Founder, whitney quin
Whitney Quin was born and raised in the Buckhead community in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Quin attended the University of Georgia where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish in 2004.
Ms. Quin began working with children at the age of 14. She held children’s summer camps and art camps in high school and also babysat for many families in Atlanta. After graduating from the University of Georgia, Ms. Quin taught Middle School Spanish in Athens. She currently tutors all ages starting at age 5. Ms. Quin has worked with children for over 20 years as a teacher, youth program manager, tutor, camp counselor, nanny and even a kids ski instructor! With her extensive experience, she is able to connect quickly with children by recognizing their social, emotional and academic needs.
Ms. Quin takes special interest in each of her students. She offers Tutoring packages for Core Curriculum grades K-8 (Math, Reading, Spelling, Language Arts, etc). She also offers Spanish Tutoring up to the University level. In college, Ms. Quin studied abroad in Granada, Spain at La Universidad de Granada. She is very passionate about the Spanish language & culture and enjoys sharing this love with her students. Ms. Sandy Adams tutors grades 9 - 12 and specializes in Creative and Formal Writing, English Literature, and SAT/ACT Prep.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Quin has a childcare service for travelers to 30A. She is happy to help friends & families traveling to the area by connecting them with local, qualified sitters. Additionally, Whitney has always had a passion for animals starting with her first dog she named Magic! She enjoys taking care of four-legged friends close to her home on the West End of 30A.
Finally, Ms. Quin has always been very passionate about helping the senior population. She has volunteered locally with Somerby Assisted Living for 4 years and still takes on occasional senior clients. Whitney is an advocate for the elderly and understands the wants and needs of the senior population. Whether it be assistance with paperwork, mail, organization, downsizing, running errands, mind-strengthening games, attending church, fun outings & special events, or merely compassion and companionship, she believes that close one-on-one relationships are what help our seniors thrive.
Ms. Quin’s clients love her enthusiasm, talent, honesty, and caring, free spirit. It is her heartfelt desire to use these gifts to engage them in activities and keep their spirits high. To put it simply, Whitney has a deep love for teaching, helping others, and for promoting the education & livelihood of our loved ones.
BRENTON COLLINSWORTH, MPH, MA - TUTOR
Brenton Collinsworth has recently moved to the 30A area from Gainesville, FL where he was a UF graduate student. Brent has over 10 years of combined formal experience working with kids and providing academic instruction. Not only does Brent have a Masters in Psychology, but he also has his Masters of Public Health from The University of Florida. Additionally, Brent has his undergrad degree from Florida State University. He is quite the scholar and is available to tutor middle school, high school and college students in the following subjects: Algebra, Geometry, Biology, Statistics, Chemistry and Psychology. Brent can be booked for tutoring through Quin Care, LLC at $100 per session. (1 hour 15 minutes)
SANDY ADAMS, MA - TUTOR
Sandy Adams is a local resident of 30A who previously spent time in Tampa, Florida. She is originally from Atlanta and is a former classroom educator of over 10 years. Sandy has her Bachelors degree from the University of Georgia in English Literature and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She is available for tutoring in the following subjects: SAT/ACT Prep, Creative and Formal Writing, College Application Process, AP Literature and Language, Grammar, Mechanics, and Syntax. Sandy can be booked for tutoring sessions through Quin Care, LLC at $100 per session.
